Corn plants

I am debating about whether or not to thin the corn plants.  They are more than four inches tall now, which some say is the time to thin out the plants.  I do know that ones to the left of the photo are doing best and I believe that is due to how the water pools and settles.  I’m going to thin these out.  I won’t need a lot of corn anyway and the garden in a few weeks will be producing a lot of things to eat.
